C. Boy
Hailing from Billings, Montana, C. Boy brings a raw fusion of ’90s East Coast boom bap grit and Big Sky sensibilities to the mic. Drawing influence from hip-hop legends like Jay-Z, J. Cole, Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and 9th Wonder—alongside an eclectic taste for classic rock, country, and soul—his sound blends sharp lyricism with a deep reverence for the craft. His music delves into the poetic nature of trauma, the philosophy of love and hate, and the search for self-understanding. Over the years, Cody has carved out his place in Montana’s hip-hop scene, opening for national acts such as Grieves, Dem Atlas, and B.o.B., while earning accolades like “Best Act” in his hometown during his time with the group Poetic Intelligence, a project that also topped the Bandcamp hip-hop charts for weeks.
With three completed projects to his name, Cody sees music as a sacred art form—capable of breaking hearts, healing wounds, and sparking both love and destruction. While his next music project remains on the back burner, his creative energy hasn’t slowed; he’s increasingly drawn to cinematography and the possibilities of film production. Whether behind the mic or the camera, Cody Boy continues to channel his experiences and philosophies into art that is as introspective as it is unflinching, holding fast to the balance between passion, craft, and the ever-present pull of the hustle.
Blue Sunset: My View From Mars is the first solo project we’ve seen from C. Boy since The Prologue. Produced entirely by Koen Miller, recorded and engineered by Mellow Mike, and brought to life by C. Boy’s vocals, he invites you on a journey both internally and to a far away place.
