Mellow is a Montana-based producer and sound architect whose style is steeped in the soul of classic boom bap. His beats are built on rich layers of soul, funk, jazz, and obscure library records, inspired by legends like The Alchemist, Jay Dilla, Jake One, Atmosphere and People Under the Stairs. His production often walks the line between warm and nostalgic to cinematic and moody—music that feels lived-in, textured, and intentional.

His resume includes projects like Scratch Soup with R’Know, A Moment in Time with Atryp,  The Last Of The Nobodies Vol. 1, Varsity Blues with Symon Palmer of STiLGoNE and Blue Sunset, an EP with C. Boy that showcased his co-production and engineering skills. The duo also made noise as a live DJ/MC act, opening for artists like Grieves, Dem Atlas, B.O.B. and Myke Bogan. These days, Mellow is focused on collaborative, story-driven work—building sonic journeys with artists that play almost like cinematic experiences, not just playlists. For him, it’s all about vibe, feel, and flow.

Mellow Mike and R'Know bring you the Scratch Soup EP, a sampler of sorts, presenting an array of fresh beats and rhymes to heal the mind, body, and soul.  Chopped and blended by Mellow, his choice of herbs and samples pair nicely with R'Know's flavor and introspective rhymes.  The result is a hearty serving of Scratch Soup, a short but flavorful dish meant to keep heads nodding and minds fed.
